This is in the UK, but what happens there and USA usually migrates to OZ. Beware!!

* A lady who pays £4,000 (~US$8,000) per year to ride the train for her daily commute is fined by the train police. What was her big transgression? She stood in an area marked off for baggage since there was nowhere else to stand or sit – even though she paid for a season ticket. So what? If the train is about to be underway and there isn’t anything in the baggage area, why should anyone care? New baggage isn’t going to suddenly spring into existence and require use of that space. But after they fined her on the spot the equivalent of about US$169.00, they told she could upgrade her ticket for £12.

* Have a dumpster not sitting exactly where it should be along the curb or have the lid open just four inches? The trash police will fine you:

Image
Open four inches too far: Gareth Corkhill with wife Claire and son Josh

Father of four shown above was taken to court and fined ... because he overfilled his wheelie-bin by just four inches. With his rubbish collected only once a fortnight, Gareth Corkhill's wheelie bin was so full the lid wouldn't shut. And for that, the father of four finds himself with a criminal record. Magistrates convicted the 26-year-old bus driver after hearing evidence that the lid was four inches ajar, which is against rules to stop bins overflowing.

* Drive a little fast out in the middle of nowhere in the UK? A speed camera lurking in the bushes will nail you, and you’ll get a ticket in the mail – with a whopping fine to match.

* Say some bad language in public? You can be fined for that, too.

* McDonald's restaurants in the UK have put license-plate cameras in their drive-through parking lots. The cameras watch how long you eat for; if you go over 45 minutes, a fine is sent to your house automatically, charging you £125 (~US$250) and if you don't pay, the fine goes up and up and up.

The company that manages McDonald's car parks, Civil Enforcement, also works with a string of other blue-chip companies. BP used it until recently to monitor some of its petrol station forecourts.

* Speeding fines up by 400 per cent - Motorists are paying four times more in speeding fines than when Labour came to power, according to figures obtained by the Tories. Drivers are now paying £200 (~US$400) a minute to the public purse, prompting the Tories to accuse the Government of treating them as "cash cows." (telegraph.uk)

* HMRC (UK equivalent of a federal tax bureau) will acquire powers next year (2009) to enter business premises and private homes used for business. For errors that are "careless, but non-deliberate", penalties worth up to 30% of an unpaid tax bill can be levied. Fines worth 70% of the final tax bill could be imposed should officials believe the taxpayer deliberately ignored the need to make a payment. Deliberate concealment could trigger fines worth 100% of the final tax bill. The new powers, outlined in the Finance Act, are due to come into effect on April 1 2009.

Tax officers will gain powers to inspect and remove information and documents, while the Treasury will limit the amount taxpayers can reclaim in wrongly paid tax from six to four years. Income tax, capital gains tax, VAT and stamp duty tax will be among payments covered by the new regime. Fines can be imposed from March 2009 on tax bills calculated from March 2008. (guardian.uk)

* Two Saudi Arabian students have been fined £800 (~US$1,600) after causing an alert at Edinburgh's Waverley station by wearing Halloween masks as a prank. Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard the pair were accused of causing fear and alarm. We’re talking about Halloween masks, a simple childish prank. (news.bbc.co.uk)

* A £6,000 (~US$12,000) fine was levied against a 'loud' restaurant. Regular use of loud music has landed a Tilbury restaurant in court and with a huge bill to pay. (thurrock.gov.uk)

* Train operator is to prosecute 600 more passengers for putting their feet on their seats. Merseyrail said it takes action to stop anti-social behaviour on the network and cut down on damage to carriages. Miss Jennings, who was wearing flip-flops at the time, was issued with a summons to appear in court by an enforcement officer.

Miss Jennings faced a criminal conviction which could have cost her the chance of a career as a teacher. But on Tuesday Chester magistrates decided to impose no penalty on the maths student and branded the decision to prosecute her "draconian". Miss Jennings, from Oldham, admitted "willfully interfering with the comfort or convencience" of other passengers.

Her transgression was forgiven - She was given an absolute discharge, which means she will pay no fine and has no conviction against her name. Miss Jennings, who is also a Cub Scout leader, claimed the magistrates' decision was a victory for common sense. But it has emerged that Merseyrail is to take 600 more passengers to court for putting their feet on its seats. (dailymail.co.uk)

Publicized examples of endless fines and taxing could go on and on for thousands of pages.

The questions are:

Why is this taking place?

What is the UK government attempting to do?

Is the idea of the ruthless, fine and tax crazy UK government to eventually create a mass revolt?

Is this simply government out of control because the people don’t push back?

Or is this just another no-so-subtle implementation of the "New World Order?"

For the next UK citizen that writes me to criticize America, I encourage them to first look at UK taxes and fines first. I know of no other country exercising such ruthless economic attacks against it’s own people.

Thanks for your guidence to news article and hope you have received the item I have sent today. You may also be interested to know that Camilla Cavendish of the Times http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/commen ... 477635.ece has informed me today that our Justice Minister Jack Straw has announced that the press will be allowed in court from April 1st 2009 do your readers think this would make a difference if judges came under this scrutiney or as I suggested that there should be a jury of regular members of the public (not social workers  ) who could overide a judge when they get it wrong!?! :o

The jury's main job is to judge the judge whilst he is judging. To keep the senile old lunatic on the straight and narrow. To protect those poor unfortunates dragged before the court.
We are all meant to be entitled to trial by jury.
That and no banning publication of the divorce court proceedings will help to make these dreadful people just a little bit more accountable. It may not be much but it is something.

Thx davey, good read.

However, this story like so many others keeps your mind imprisoned within the walls of the legal industry, family courts, medical professionals and so on.

People need to see outside the square and raise their awareness that when families separate or divorce, the current systems we have set up, don't soften the impact for family members post separation, it often exacerbates the pain, harm, losses, and destuction of human life.

As a a maturing society (yes.. a very positive thought and wish, hopefully not just a pipe dream), we need to scrap this current system completely! All of it.. and start fresh, with what we now know that can serve families best, instead of the breakdown of families and their assets serving the economic systems that serve other parts of society.

It's a bit like a family in the desert with no food or water and near death. Instead of helping the family we let them continue to suffer, starve, and ultimately die, just so the vultures can have a feed.

What healthy mentality is that to cast, for a society that is so rich with resources, knowledge and wisdom?

Is it because it's an ultimate warning to the many married/intact families not to divorce or separate, else the consequences can be devestating, so watch out? Bit like a heavy punishment - as in being jailed for stealing a loaf of bread cos you were hungry.

If this is the thinking, it is draconian without a doubt. Changes need to begin in the minds of every individual that we will all create a better way for families dealing with the often unfortunate grief and circumstances of breaking up.

Or is it about pure power, monetary greed for a few at the top of the food chain?

Keeping us all as slaves, ignorant, distracted and programmed to spin around in our own little orbits being content with our lot (or not), allowing the elite to maintain a lifestyle of wealth and riches that most would not comprehend.

Accountability by government by the common people is always a good way to start - not a good way to finish after all the damage has been done.

40 years of abuse, two generations that have grown up to feel valueless, leaves a sociatal stigma and loss of potential that is not easy to remedy! Powerlessness before a demonic being (government today) creates a submissive and backward world.

To do good too late is to do no good at all. It is a sham. I agree with Rambo that the whole system needs to be dismanted. It cannot be replaced until government adheres to the will of the people rather than push a diabolical agenda on the unsuspecting vulnerable merely to adjust the modus operandi to quieten dissent. It is not a moral or ethical position they truely represent but a politically expedient one.

You cannot appear to be just while one the otherhand be injust. Family Court is the tip-of-the-iceberg to the clearly sinister government agenda of removing fathers from their children. This is being done routinely worldwide by Human Services Child Protection units.

It may all sound conspirasorial but awareness of what is happening worldwide can not only be found in ones personal experience (UK being such a great example) but by far wiser than I. Chk out sites like as an example or the links page on this site.

Now there is a coincedence as a number of threads I have raised on the Daily Mail newsboard have lead to revalution and anarcy ( In fact my mothers maden name is Castro so part way their  ) It is becoming clearer then ever that radical change is the only solution . Many people advercate President Obama as a leader of HOPE  but has he the political or other will for such change and what of Kevin Rudd seems a reasonable guy
is he or his justice minister on the case I know he has only been in his post a short while . We will have to wait till next year for a change to our lame duck leader but not convinced Cameron is our saviour mybe Nigel Farage our UKIP guy who wants to get us out of Europe  wish he would and lead us out of all the other injustices :!:
