A MOTHER did not report her suspicions that her teenage daughter was sexually involved with her female teacher because she had no proof, a Brisbane court has been told.
The mother today told the District Court she did not tell police of her concerns as she had no evidence.
"I had my suspicions, but I had no proof,'' said the woman, who cannot be named as it would identify the alleged victim.
The woman was giving evidence in the trial of Amanda Louise Thompson, 28, who is accused of pursuing an illegal relationship with a student while she was a teacher at a school south of Brisbane.
She has pleaded not guilty to one count of maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child between April 2003 and 2005.
It's alleged the relationship started when the girl was just 14 years old.
Prosecutor Todd Fuller said the pair met regularly in secluded parks so they could engage in sexual activities.
The court was also told Ms Thompson regularly holidayed with the girl's family, and they spent a lot of time together after school and on weekends.
The girl's mother today said she often saw them "cuddling'', and that she repeatedly had to ask them to keep the door open when they were in her daughter's bedroom.
The mother said she never saw them kiss, but that they were very "touchy-feely'' with one another.
She told the court she confronted the pair in 2005 after police visited her home to ask her daughter about her relationship with her teacher.
The mother said she told them they had become "obsessed'' with one another and should stop meeting.
She said their friendship started to sour after the visit from police and her daughter stopped staying at Ms Thompson's house.
The trial continues.
