UNEMPLOYED V POLITICIANS - DECLARING WATER
Many Australians are applying for Centrelink payments for the first time.
To do so, they are forced to declare their water assets, and submit a copy of their water licence.
If they own water, government can cut back on their measly $750 fornightly payment.
Politicians - earning up to $300,000 a year - have no such obligation. No need to declare. No form. No documents to submit.
I tried to change this, introducing a bill to force politicians to declare their water.
They attacked me, reported me to the ethics committee and stalled for several weeks
They then shut down parliament until September, meaning my bill will expire and get thrown out.
What a disgraceful double standard.
The pandemic has saved them for now. But I'll be back in September and I'm coming to get em.
