CANBERRA - The federal government says it will extend funding to family relationship services.
The Family Relationship Services Program will receive $277 million in commonwealth funding over the next three years.
The program includes more than 135 organisations which provide family separation services including counselling with the focus on the children's wellbeing.
Families Minster Jenny Macklin said the funding would enable service providers to provide certainty to clients.
"(Funding) will mean organisations can provide ongoing services at the same time providing essential training and career security for staff," Ms Macklin said in a statement.
